Important Notice: Fraud Attempt by Fake Email Domain “meteknordc.com”

Dear customers,

We must inform you that we have detected an attempted fraud in connection with a payment that was to be made to us by a business partner.  The business partner received a message from a fraudulent email address, ‘meteknordc.com’, recognisable by the missing letter “i” in the correct email address, ‘meteknordic.com’. Attached to this message was an invoice from Metek GmbH that appeared to be genuine, but with a wrong account number and a wrong bank name, ‘N26’.

Please carefully check all invoices you receive from us. We expressly point out that we will never change our known bank details by email or other electronic means, but only by verifiable, written means. We also ask you to be aware that we only communicate via email using our official email domains “metek.de” and “meteknordic.com”. We have noticed that, in addition to the above-mentioned fake email domain, other fake domains have been registered that look very similar to ours, such as “meteknordlc.com”.

We are currently reviewing what additional procedures are possible to ensure secure payment transactions. Please note that we cannot accept any liability for damages resulting from such cases of fraud.
